T-MSOS Challenged Centre on Media Ban
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 Aug 2014 10:10 AM GMTThe ban issue of media channels in Telangana took new turn. Its known that Central government has taken the ban on ABN-Andhra Jyothy and TV9 Channels very seriously after Congress MP Renuka Chowdary and TDP MP Sujana Chowdary took up the issue in Rajya Sabha in the last couple of days.
Prime Minister Narendra modi took the issue personally and passed stern instructions to concerned Minister Prakash Javadekar to resolve the issue at the earliest. The ministry sets the deadline for today and warned with the cancellation of license.
The T-MSOs did not resume the broadcast of the banned News Channels and they have thrown a challenge back to the center. They served the ball in to Center’s court saying that they are not ready to telecast those two news channels, which Telangana people do not want to watch.
They further clarified that there is no mutual agreement between them and those two new channels. They informed that those channels are not paying any carriage fees to them for airing their channels.
They said they are ready to face the center in court if the latter cancelled their licenses. It is known that the channels were banned by the MSOs of the region after Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao slammed them in Assembly for airing derogatory and false news on the region and the newly elected government
