Tax Officials summons Young Hero

Central Excise and Customs Department has served summons to hero Nithin on Tuesday for alleged innovation of service tax. Upto now, the actors didn't register himself for payment of service tax on the film assignment since the past two years.
Few months ago, Centre has brought a new amendment into effect which makes all the people involved in the production be it actors or anchors liable to pay a service tax of 12.36 percent on their contracts if their earnings exceed Rs 10 lakhs. Officials have prepared a list of celebs who are invading the taxes and taking action as per the procedure. Several young and upcoming actors and reality show actors have been under scanner.
Nithin had two releases in the past two years (Ishq, Gunde Jaari Gallanthayinde) and both of them are his home productions. He has signed a bunch of new films with promising directors in the recent past - Courier Boy Kalyan for Gautham Menon production, Heart Attack under Puri Jagannath's direction and another love story with Karunakaran. It is believed that he even hiked his remuneration to Rs 4 crore after GJG success. So, tax officials are expecting a bulk amount for the lover boy.
