Telangana chief minister rains sops on cops

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced a series of sops and promised better facilities for police personnel during an event organized in connection with Police Martyrs Commemoration Day at the Goshamahal Police Grounds.
The Chief Minister said a compensation of Rs 40 lakh would be paid to the bereaved families of police constables and Head constables; Rs 45 lakh for Sub-inspectors, Rs 50 lakh for Circle Inspectors and Deputy Superintendents of Police and Rs One crore to IPS rank officers.
KCR assured that the above compensations would reach the bereaved families within one week.Chandrashekar Rao further announced a hike in the daily allowance of police constables from Rs 90 to Rs 250.
He also said gazetted officers status would be accorded to Sub-Inspectors and necessary orders would issued in this regard today itself. He also announced supply of 50,000 CUG phones.He also said that medical checkups will be conducted once six months to all police personnel, who cross 40 years of age.
Reacting on the government’s decision, telangana Police expressed its gratitude to the Chief Minister for his bold decision.
