Temple for Sonia in Telangana!!!

Even as the Seemandhra leaders have constructed a tomb in Tirupati, in memory of AICC president Sonia Gandhi for announcing separate Telangana State, the Karimnagar district Congress committee leaders have constructed a make-shift temple to Sonia Gandhi hailing her as Telangana Devatha (Goddess of Telangana) State, in Karimnagar on Sunday.
Congress leaders have constructed a make-shift cardboard temple in Karimnagar town dedicated to party president Sonia Gandhi wherein pujas are performed for her photograph. Party leaders said that Mrs Gandhi was a goddess for the people of Telangana for agreeing to the state’s bifurcation.
Congress leaders including MP Ponnam Prabhkar, activists and local people performed pujas before Gandhi’s picture in the temple on Sunday by breaking coconuts while party women activists offered harathi pooja. It was, however, surprising to note that photographs of minister Sridhar Babu and DCC president K. Ravinder Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar were placed besides Gandhi’s portrait.
It is being viewed as an effort to counter the act of Seemandhra people who constructed a ‘samadhi’ for Gandhi recently, holding her responsible for the state’s bifurcation. Prabhakar said, “People of Telangana will certainly construct permanent temples for Sonia Gandhi after the Telangana Bill is passed in Parliament.”
Sources, however, said that it was only a coincidence that the temple dedicated to Sonia Gandhi was built close to the statue of her mother-in-law, Late prime minister Indira Gandhi, who was considered to be a strong supporter of united AP. Senior Congress leader Sunil Rao set up the temple.
PCC secretary Y Sunil Rao, who took the initiative for construction of the make-shift temple, said that “Sonia Gandhi is our Goddess as she fulfilled the dream of the Telangana people. Whatever we do for her is very less. Soniaji took initiative and announced separate Telangana State without giving in to any pressures,” he maintained. She respected the sentiments of the Telangana people and supreme sacrifices of several thousands of youth and 57 year old movement for statement, he added.
