TS demands share in Tirupati Darshan
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 Aug 2014 11:11 AM GMT With the state bifurcation ,one of the world’s richest Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple had gone to AP along with other famous temples.Ever since formation of Telangana and AP states, there were no recommendation letters issued to devotees for darshan and accommodation in Tirumala from CMO of Telangana. Devotees are also not pestering T ministers for letters for fear of them not being honoured.
Meanwhile Telangana Tourism department and Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) had asked the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam for a share in the darshan tickets .According to sources TTDC Managing director had written a letter on this issue to TTD.
It was a customary for allocating darshan tickets to Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and from last three years TTD following it.But post bifurcation there were no tickets allocated to Telangana Tourism. In his letter TTDC Managing director had reportedly asked darshan tickets in the ratio of 58% to AP and 42% to Telangana. Andhra Pradesh government is planning to recruit new board for TTD.It has also put a big question mark on whether Telangana state will get a representation on the Tirumala Tirupati Devast-hanams (TTD) Board
Will Telangana CM get the coveted Mahadwaram darshanam limited to VVIPs like Presidents, Prime Ministers, Govern-ors and Chief Minister of the concerned state is another moot point.
