Martin Guptill of New Zealand took over the top spot of highest run-scorer of 2015 Cricket World Cup as he surpassed Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka total runs of 541. Guptill finished with the highest 547 runs to become the No. 1 in the top-5 list of batsmen.

He shared the same number of wickets as that of Trent Boult from New Zealand at 22 but the better average and economy helped him push hi Trans-tasman rivals to second place. The Indian bowlers Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami finished at third and fourth place with 18 and 17 wickets respectively.
