Why did Google apologise to Modi?

Search Engine Google conveyed apology to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his image features in the search results of 'Top 10 Criminals' of the World.

Google issued a statement: "These results trouble us and aren't reflective of our opinion. We apologise for any confusion or misunderstanding caused by the search results. We're continually working on our algorithms to prevent such unexpected results".

The hashtag (#Top10Criminals) has been trending since Tuesday due to the blunder committed by Google Algorithm. Not just the image of Modi, Even the picture of former US President George Bush appears in the list along with dreaded criminals & terrorists. Google faced severe criticism from people across the World and had no other alternative but to apologise for the goof-up.
