Why Jagan opposed Bhogapuram Airport?

YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy slammed AP Government for planning to acquire 15,000 of land for setting up an international airport at Bhogapuram.
Terming TDP's agenda as commercial, Jagan alleged its nothing but the ploy of Ruling Party to ensure real estate prices in the surrounding areas escalate. He pointed out no international airport in the country has been set up in such a large area. He reminded International airports at Mumbai, Chennai and Cochin were built on 2,000 acres, 1,223 acres and 800 acres respectively.
Jagan advised TDP Government to focus on upgrading the existing Visakhapatnam airport (350 acres) by acquiring land in surrounding areas rather than planning a new airport with fertile lands. He went on to say Farmers were already in neck-deep trouble due to false promises like farm loan waiver and acquiring the lands would only make their lives miserable.
