Woman Minister Gets Married to a Farmer

The marriage was attended by ministers MLAs and other political leaders. She took the blessings the Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy and Ex CM Achyuthananda.Jayalakshmi touched the feet of Chandy and Achuthanandan in a bid to seek their blessings.
P. K. Jayalakshmi is the Minister for Welfare of Backward Communities in the Government of Kerala. She is representing the Mananthavady constituency in Kerala after winning in the 2011 State Election.
She is the youngest minister in the present Oommen Chandy Government and the first Adivasi Minister of Kerala. Jayalakshmi, who won the elections on her debut in 2011, is the only woman legislator in the ruling United Democratic Front (UDF). As the tradition of the community, Jayalakshmi remained silent. She did not speak to the guests on the marriage as per Kurichiya practice
