AP Agri Budget: Key allocations!

Aiming to give a boost to the farm sector, the Andhra Pradesh government presented an exclusive Budget for Agriculture and allied sectors with Rs 14,184 crore for 2015-16
 
Agriculture minister Pulla Rao presented the budget in Assembly and he proposed Rs 4513.45 crore under plan and Rs 9670.58 crore under non-plan expenditure for agriculture and allied sectors. The government allocated Rs 3,000 crore for power subsidy to farmers.
 
Coming to prestigious loan waiver scheme an amount of Rs 4,689 crore was credited in favour of 40.50 lakh farmers in the first phase during December 2014. Under second phase, 42.16 lakh accounts are in process, as per the budget. In the Budget, the government proposed allocations to different departments and universities, including sericulture , cooperation department and fisheries.
 
Highlights of the Budget

 
The Agriculture Budget for 2015-16 is put at Rs.14,814.03 crore.
planned expenditure is Rs 4513 crore
unplanned expenditure set at Rs 9670 crore
Rs 5,000 crore has been allotted to loan waivers scheme.
Rs 3,000 crore for free power supply
Rs.2717.61 crore for allied industries.
The allocations are as follows:
Marketing Rs 17.83 crore;
Cooperative sector Rs.7.88 crore,
Fisheries  Rs 36.50 crore;
Silk industries Rs 93.61 crore;
Animal husbandry Rs 672.73 crore;
Horticulture Rs 144.07 crore;
Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University Rs 53.01 crore.
Venkateswara University for Animal Husbandry Rs 124.48 crore;
Mechanization in Agriculture Rs 141.63 crore; S
oil Testing Rs 90.95 crore;
Crop Insurance Rs 172 crore;
Interest free loans Rs 100 crore;
 Palm Oil crops Rs 28.5 crore
Establishment of laboratories  Rs 13.89 crore.
 
Andhra Pradesh had started the practice of presenting the exclusive Budget for agriculture in 2012-13, with a view to giving a focused approach to the ailing sector.
