Dwaraka Shankaracharya Swaroopananda Saraswathi made sensational comments about Shiridi Sai Baba by calling him as simple human. In a statement that could hurt religious sensibilities of thousands of disciples, Swaroopanand has said that the Sai Baba should not be worshipped as he was a mortal and not a god.
The comments of Swaroopananda creating unrest amongst Hindu’s across the globe. Saibaba devotees are expressing anger on Sankaracharya. Not only common audience film celebrities also responding on the issue.Telugu film actor and former MP Mohanbabu arranged a press meet and condemned the comments made on Saibaba.
Mohan Babu said he was feeling band for being Hindu after hearing Swaroopananda comments.Mohan Babu criticized Swaroopananda called him as mentally unstable person. Mohan Babu reminded that Shiri Sai Baba is an incarnation of Lord Siva.
“I am deeply hurt for the vague statements that Saibaba is not God, I am a believer of Sai baba, had been to Shirdi many times, I shed tears many times. It is cruel to give such statements that he used to eat flesh and so on. Many Muslims follow Baba. It is not good to talk cheap about a religion or sect”Mohan Babu said
Meanwhile wide spread agitations are seen across the country. Sai baba devotees are burning effigies of Sankaracharya. They are demanding apology from self made saint Sankaracharya.We have to wait and see how Sankharacharya justifies his comments.
