Few days ago, Censor Board chairman Pahlaj Nihalani issued a circular to the regional censor boards and producers councils imposing a ban on 28 cuss words in Hindi and English. There is widespread criticism on this decision and eventually leading to a serious debate on the social media.
In a meeting held Today (February 23rd), Most of the members of the Censor Board disapproved the ban on offensive words. As a result, Censor Board chairman has to take the decision to put the ban on hold.
Ashoke Pandit, one of the members of CBFC, commented, "As a Filmmaker & CBFC board member do not endorse the list issued by the Chairperson On words not to be used in films. I was not consulted".
