A Hindu temple in Washington has been vandalized by some people and it outraging the country's hindu community. As per reports the temple in Washington State was vandalized on the eve of its planned celebration of Maha Shivaratri
Some devotees who went to the temple on Sunday found a swastika painted on it and "Get Out" scrawled in large letters with spray paint. It is one of the largest Hindu temples in the entire North West.
The incident have sent shock waves through the community in the area and prompting authorities to launch an investigation.The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Department is investigating this case as malicious harassment. Some of the county officials visited the temple to check the proceeeidngs.On Tuesday, the temple planned to celebrate Mahashivratri.
This is not the first time that Hindu temple became target for the miscreants.There has been a spate of anti-Hindu attacks across the US in recent months. In last year August a murti of Shiva at the Vishwa Bhavan Hindu Mandir in Georgia state was desecrated with black paint. Profanities and phrases like “ha ha” and “LOL” were spray painted on the walls of this temple along with other acts of vandalism.
