Good governance to be BJP focus in assembly polls

Update: 2013-10-05 16:36 GMT
A day after assembly polls were announced in five states, the BJP said Saturday good governance will be the centre of its agenda.

"Our party will go to the voters on the issues of 'Good governance vs Bad Governance' in the coming assembly elections in five states," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said in a statement Saturday.

Naqvi, who is the in charge of central election management, programme and co-ordination, said BJP will fight from all assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Chhattisgarh and will field many candidates in Mizoram.

"State units of the party started the selection process of the candidates. The names will be finalised soon," he said.

As the Election Commission warned incomplete affidavits will lead to disqualification of candidates, Naqvi also instructed the state units to fill the nomination paper properly "as there are chances of cancellation of incomplete nomination".

He added that special control rooms will be established to spread information on the "None of the Above" (NOTA) option.
