The Madras High Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking a stay on the release of Kamal Haasan starrer 'Uttam Villain'.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) moved High Court stating that the lyrics of a song belitted a conversation between Prahlad (a devotee of Lord Vishnu) and his father Hiranyakashiu has hurt the sentiments of Hindus. The Hindu outfit urged for imposing a ban on the movie conveying the whole community will be put to shame if such a project hits the screens.
Justice T Raja dismissed the writ petition citing that there is no merit in the plea and even declined VHP's request of ordering the deletion of the controversial song about Lord Vishnu from 'Uttam Villain'.
With the clearance from court, 'Uttam Villain' is all set to hit the screens in a big way on May 1st, 2015.
