Acting was never on Ram Charan's mind when he was a teenager. He, however, got attracted to the stardom and fame when he was in the 2nd year of B.Com.

Ram Charan: "Acting bug didn't bit me till when I am 16-17 years of age, I was never interested in films but very passionate about cars. I used to draw the sketches of cars in the classrooms. I still remember asking Dad that I would go Germany to study Mechanical Engineering. For sometime, I was keen on becoming a cricketer and played Junior Ranji's at Parade Grounds. The thought of becoming an actor never came to my mind and even Dad didn't ask me to take up acting".

"After a point of time, Industry biggies including K Raghavendra Rao began asked when was my film debut. I don't know how to answer those questions? It was at that point, I realized that I have been searching for something far away and ignoring the opportunity at my doorsteps. Acting bug bit me at the age of 18-19".

"One fine day, I conveyed to Dad (while he was shooting for a film) that I wanted to join Acting School. I discontinued B.Com in the last year and completed 1 year acting coarse in London. Later, I got trained for 4-5 months in Mumbai. 8 Months after the training, 'Chirutha' shooting began."
