Indian Tourism Minister Chiranjeevi launched the Clean India campaign at Taj Mahal with the intention of providing hygienic environment in and around monuments and Tourist sites to attract more visitors.
The action plan will cover around 36 monuments and Tourism sites in India. This move will enhance the beauty and for creating hygienic atmosphere at the Tourist places.
ONGC-sponsored Clean India Campaign has adopted six monuments, including Taj Mahal. The other monuments are Ellora and Elephant Caves in Maharashtra, Red Fort in Delhi, Golconda Fort in Hyderabad and Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu.
At present, India attracts about 5.7 million foreigners in a year. The success of Clean India Campaign is crucial to achieve the targeted growth of 12 percent in Tourist arrivals. Can Chiru achieve bringing 12 million foreigners a year?
