Hi-tech Babu Capital dreams shock Farmers

Update: 2014-06-04 06:27 GMT
Chief Minister-in-waiting Chandrababu Naidu has hinted about hand acquisition for the construction of capital between Vijayawada and Guntur. This indication has shocked the farmers and land owners as the fear of losing their assets is haunting them.

During the discussion with CPI delegation which met him to discuss on crop loan waiver promise, Naidu pointed out the shortage of lands between Vijayawada and Guntur which might prompt the government to go for land acquisition from private individuals. He, however, promised to make farmers partners in development projects instead of paying them compensation.

Sources say, It's going to be Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model where the land owners get rights over 60% of the developed land and the government agencies will be claiming the remaining 40%. Government acquires 5,000 acres of land if it requires 2,000 acres of land. The Government will keep the 2,000 acres of land to itself post development and return the 3,000 acres to farmers.
