India successfully launched third navigation satellite IRNSS 1C on board PSLV C26 rocket on Thursday. This movie is major step by ISRO to set up country's own navigation system on par with USA's Global Positioning System (GPS).
Apparently, IRNSS 1C is 3rd among the 7 satellites that would be launched for Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System. The rocket which took off from the spaceport at 1.32 am painted the sky with its flames and its a delight to watch.
Soon after accomplishing the mission, ISRO announced: "PSLV-C26 successfully injectected the navigation satellite IRNSS 1C into the designated orbit".
IRNSS would provide information regarding location and time irrespective of weather conditions. The two satellites which were launched earlier were named IRNSS 1A and IRNSS 1B.
