Jagan six-page open letter against Bifurcation

Within hours after submitting his resignation to express his solidarity to the Seemandhra people who have hit the streets after the July 30th announcement by Centre, YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy released a 6-page letter to explain his feelings to the people on the bifurcation of the state.

Jagan asserted that it took nearly 60 years to built a capital city like Hyderabad after Madras was denied to Andhra people who were are now asked to built a similar city in 10 years elsewhere. "Hyderabad contributes 90,000 crore (Rs 40,000 crore towards state taxes, Rs 35,000 crore towards central taxes and Rs 15,000 crore towards local revenues). Centre should take these aspects into consideration and ensure equal rights to the people of all the regions," he said.

The YSRC chief pointed out that a solution which is acceptable to all the stake holders need to be find out if division is inevitable. Accusing Congress of playing with the lives of people, he dared to ask the National party to windup and leave the state if it is unable to do justice to the people of all the regions.
