Cancer has become the major threat to the survival of Mankind. Statistics show over 1,300 people has been succumbing to this life-threatening disease every day.
National Cancer Registry Programme of the India Council of Medical Research (ICMR) report says, Mortality Rate due to cancer has gone up by 6 per cent between the period 2012 to 2014. In the year 2014 alone, There were nearly 5 lakh deaths in the country due to Cancer out of 28,20,179 cases diagnosed. The count is more or less the same in the years 2012 and 2013.
Experts say, Unhealthy Lifestyle and Using Tobacco Products have been the major reasons behind Cancer. Lack of adequate Diagnostic Facilities have been the major factor that's contributing to the increase in number of Cancer deaths.
2nd Highest Number of Deaths in India were caused due to Tuberculosis. While the count is 61,887 in 2012, The no. of deaths have been 57,095 in 2013.
