For remixing his composition without taking any prior permissions, Maestro Ilayaraja has sent a legal notice to commercial movie king Shankar. For “remixing and rearranging” his composition, Ooru Vittu Ooru Vandhu song, in the recently released film “Kappal” without permission Ilayaraja sent this notice for violation of copyrights.
The song was originally from film Karagaattakkaaran. Shankar is the producer of the film, which is directed by one of his former assistants, and hence he received the legal notice. Though Shankar had entered into an agreement with Agi Music Pvt Ltd to acquire the permission to remix, Ilayaraja’s advocates demanded him to pay royalty immediately.
