City police busted two alleged cricket betting rackets Sunday night and arrested three people from two areas of the metropolis while the Indian Premier League final was on at the Eden Gardens.

Sleuths of the Special Task Force and Detective Department made the arrests by conducting joint operations in Baguiati area in Kolkata's northeastern outskirts and central hub Burrabazar, police sources said.

Police picked up Pawan Agarwal from Baguiati and seized one laptop and four mobile phones from him.

Aditya Damani and Raj Sharma were nabbed from Burrabazar with three laptops and some cash.

Kolkata is already under the scanner after the arrest of film producer Ajit Surekha -- for being an alleged bookie -- last Wednesday.

Surekha and nine of his associates were nabbed from their hideout in Ultadanga area of north Kolkata during a joint operation by police's special task force and detective department.

While a probe is on regarding their involvement in the ongoing IPL spot fixing controversy, initial investigation has revealed that they bet on a match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
