AR Murugadoss is one of the highest paid directors in the country and his remuneration is on par with Star Hero's of Tollywood and Kollywood. Can you guess what was his first pay?
Recently, AR Murugadoss revealed, "May first salary as assistant director was Rs 500. I was offered Rs 10,000 when I directed my first film. The remuneration I get paid down South is more than what I receive for Bollywood projects. That shows I am not greedy for money".
"The reason behind me doing Hindi films is only to prove a point to someone who insulted me saying - 'what a person who wasn't even from Chennai and coming from a remote place will do in Bollywood?'," he added.
Till date, Murugadoss directed two Bollywood films (Ghajini & Holiday [Thuppaki remake]) which were remakes of his Tamil films starring Suriya and Vijay. While Ghajini was the first Rs 200 crore flick in Bollywood, Even Holiday joined Rs 100 crore club.
