Indian Railways hikes Platform Ticket price

Indian Railways has increased the Platform Ticket price from Rs 5 to Rs 10 per Ticket. This hike will come into effect from April 1st this year.

Railway Ministry  passed orders to all Zonal Railways to make printing of the tickets with revised prices as top priority and deliver them to all the stations much in advance. If there is any delay, Already Existing Ticket will be used with the old price corrected with a Stamp.

Changes have been made to the Software accordingly to collect the revised rate at the counters.

In addition, Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) have been given powers to increase the  platform ticket price beyond Rs 10 to regulate rush at platforms.
