Infosys to Govt: Give SEZ or Repay Rs 75 crore!

Update: 2015-05-05 13:19 GMT
Infosys maintained West Bengal Government has to either accord Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status to the IT giant's proposed Software Development Centre at Rajarhat or repay the money (Rs 75 crore) company has given in advance for the land.

Left Front Government (which ruled before Mamta Banerjee came into power) assured Infosys that SEZ status would be granted to Software Development Centre which is likely to create 15,000 jobs. For some reason, Mamta Banerjee's Government isn't keen on doing it!

A senior Infosys spokesperson says, The continuity in policies shouldn't change even though governments change. "All that the state government has to do is forwarding the proposal to the centre recommending SEZ status. Other states where Infosys will offering its services have already done the same," he told, apart from saying Infosys isn't thinking about withdrawing project as of now and hopeful of a positive response from Didi.
