Telangana Lorry Owners Association demanded the State Government to call back its decision to levy an Entry Tax on AP Vehicles as they fear even Andhra Government could impose a similar tax on their vehicles in retaliation.
In a meeting held to discuss the issue, The Association asked Telangana Government to withdraw Entry Tax by Monday else extreme measures will be taken from there after. They aren't even hesitating to give a state-wide bandh call and an agitation. "Telangana Government generates Rs 40 crore through entry tax. Why a rich state is so desperate for such a small amount?," Lorry Owners questioned.
AP Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao met Governor ESL Narasimhan to complain against the Telangana Government for penalizing people of AP for coming to the joint capital.
