TTD owes 241 crore to Telangana Government, Says Harish rao

In a surprising twist Telengana Minister for Irrigation and Legislative Affairs T Harish Rao today informed the Assembly that TTD(tirumala tirupati devasthanam)Board has owed 241 crores to Telangana state.

The Minister speaking at the question hour told the house members that the TTD owed the amount to the Telangana State Endowments Department. He said that as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 TTD board has to pay 241 crores to Telangana and added that efforts were on to get amount from the TTD at the earliest. Harish said that TTD revenues were to be distributed among the two states in proportion to the population of the states as per the AP State Bifurcation Act.

He said while the TDP owes Rs 241 crore as per the Reorganisation Act, it comes to around Rs 381 crore as per the CAG Report. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao too has directed the officials to expedite the process.

The Minister assured that TRS govt was sincere about the development of temples in the state. He  also announced that famous Yadagirigutta Temple would be developed at a cost of Rs 100 crore, on the lines of TTD.He said that the TTD would deposit the amount in the account of Endowments Department and in turn, it would release the amount in the State's exchequer.
