YSR Congress honorary president YS Vijayamma has decided to go on a fast-unto-death from August 19th in Vijayawada protesting the way Congress has dealt the division of state. Party demanded the Centre to keep the state united if it can't do equal justice to both Seemandhra and Telangana regions.
YSRC Political Affairs Committee member Mysura Reddy opined Congress had only thought about political gains neglecting the basis for division of the state. He said the decision of Congress Working Committee is dictatorial and ruling party is only aiming at bagging 10 MP seats in the Telangana regions out 17 seats with the bifurcation.
Reacting to the High Command's message that its four-member committee headed by AK Antony would address the concerns of Seemandhra people, Mysura wondered how could all the stake-holders make their representation to a party committee on a issue like bifurcation. He expressed the opinion that there is no need for anyone to approach the Antony's committee with their pleas.
YSR Congress is the only party in the state to record 100 percent resignations opposing the Centre's decision to divide AP. While Jagan and Vijayamma submitted resignations few days ago, 16 MLAs and MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy too quit the posts much earlier over the same issue.
