Singers K.S. Chitra and Vijay Yesudas were among those honoured at the CERA BIG Malayalam Music Awards.
To salute the legends of Malayalam music industry and encourage gen-next, the first edition of the award, which is an initiative of 92.7 BIG FM radio network, took place Saturday.
Chitra was honoured for completing three decades in in the industry and she also won the best female singer of the year trophy for her songs "Ilaveyil Viralukal" from "Artist" and "Ponnodu Poovayi" from "Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty".
Vijay Yesudas won the best male singer award for the song "Mazha kondu mathram" from "Spirit".
"Nilaamalare", a track from the movie "Diamond Necklace", won the best melody award, while best composer trophy went to M. Jayachandran for his work in "Kalimannu" and "Celluloid".
