No film can be successful without the support of technicians, say director Karan Johar and actress Chitrangada Singh, who are excited to host a segment at TOIFA that would recognise the best talents working behind the camera.
"I am really excited… Being a producer and director, I have seen the effort and hard work that goes behind the screens. None of the films we make, would be half as successful without the technical teams burning the midnight oil," Karan said in a statement.
The three-day award function will start April in Vancouver, Canada and Karan-Chitrangada will host the Technical Awards and Fashion Gala on April 5.
"It is important to recognise the unsung heroes. They will be applauded by thousands of international fans at Vancouver, British Columbia," said Karan known for churning out blockbusters like "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" and "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham".
Chitrangada, seen in films like "Desi Boyz" and "Inkaar", gives credit to the technical team, which includes editors, sound engineers and VFX specialists among others, for "making make us actors look so good on the screen".
"I am looking forward to host the technical awards, which shall honour the teams that work tirelessly to make our films work and are the backbone of the film industry... I am sure it's going to be a rocking event," she added.
