Nandamuri Balakrishna is eyeing the Gannavaram Assembly segment to contest in the 2014 general elections. The actor is already on the mission to ensure there is no hurdle what-so-ever for him within the party.
Dasari Balavardhan Rao is the sitting MLA of Gannavaram constituency. He contested on TDP ticket in 2009 and won against Congress candidate MV Rao with a considerable majority. TDP leadership asked Balavardhan Rao to join the governing body of Krishna District Cooperative Milk Dairy which is popular as Vijaya Dairy only to avoid him from contesting the next elections from Gannavaram segment.
Earlier, Balakrishna considered contesting in constituencies like Gudiwada, Nimmakuru and Mylavaram. While Kodali Nani is going to give a tough fight in Gudiwada, Nimmakuru was merged with Pamarru which is a SC reserved constituency and sitting MLA Deviveni Uma isn't willing to move from Mylavaram. Finally, Balayya zeroed in on Gannavaram which is TDP's stronghold and party ranks were of the opinion that he would be winning here with record majority.
