BCCI slaps Rs 250 crore damages claim

West Indian team aborting the series in Dharmashala recently irked BCCI. Angered with the decision of West indies cricket board BCCI has slapped a damages claim to the tune of Rs 250 crore (USD 42 million) on the WICB for leaving the series abruptly.

West Indies cricket board is already in the financial crisis and the BCCI's decision turned as shocker to them .As per the reports BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel wrote letter to the WICB claiming damages to the tune of Rs 250 crore and asked to reply with in 15 days

BCCI reportedly incurred loss of 35 million dollars in form of media rights.Apart from this the loss also happended to BCCI in form of Ticket prices and title sponsorship and Nike sponsorship.Mentioning all these BCCI wrote letter and asked to respond the WI cricket board else warned with dire consequences.

The visitors were scheduled to play in a one-off T20 match at Cuttack followed by Tests at Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.But they left the tour abruptly after Darmashala One day.Responding to the situation the International Cricket Council (ICC) has expressed its concern about the dispute between both cricket boards but explained that they do not have authority to take action.
