Communal Clashes in Vadodara on Saturday rocked Gujarat. Hindus and Muslims resorted to violence. Two groups pelted stones and set vehicles ablaze in Vadodara which is just 110 kilometres from Ahmedabad.
Cops have taken 40 people into custody in connection with the clashes. Services like mobile internet and text messaging have been temporarily put on hold.
The reason behind the communal clashes is said to be the photos which were on circulation on Social media since Thursday.
PM Modi won from Vadodara Lok Sabha segment with record majority in recent elections. He, however, choose to represent Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and resigned for Vadodara. BJP retained the seat in recent by-elections.
