Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender and Nizamabad TRS MP and founder of Telangana Jagruti, Ms Kalvakuntla Kavitha sets an example. Heeding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call, Both the TRS leaders has given up cooking gas subsidies.
Besides etela prominent leaders of the state including BJP state unit President and Party MLA G.Kishan Reddy, RS MP KVP Ramachander Rao too gave up their gas subsidy to help save the public money.
Prime minsiter Modi had last month launched the ‘Give-it-Up’ campaign and over three lakh people, including ministers, government and public sector officials and MPs have given up using subsidised LPG.
Till now 10,000 people give up their subsidy in Telangana state alone and it was reached 6000 mark in Andhra Pradesh state.While a subsidised cooking gas (LPG) cylinder costs Rs. 417 per 14.2-kg cylinder in Delhi, a marketed priced bottle of the same size comes for Rs. 621
