Flight with no pilot, passengers waited for 16 hours

Air India Express flight IX 243 was scheduled to take off for Doha at 3.55pm. However, As many as 69 passengers of a Doha-bound Air India Express flight from Mumbai are stranded because of non-availability of pilots to operate the aircraft. It has still not started to destination from the international airport Mumbai, actual planned on saturday evening 3:55 and rescheduled to sunday 7 AM.

When contacted Air India Express spokesperson did not respond. In the early hours of evening passangers have received information from help desk that,
"Due to technical reasons the flight has been delayed by few hours as the engineers looking in the issue.”

"Later on, we were informed that the engineers have fixed the problem and the flight will soon take off. But at 8 pm, they said the flight will take off on Sunday morning as the flight crew has completed its duty hours and it would arrange another pilots tomorrow," said the agitated passenger.

Some of the passangers are requested the AI autorities to arrange alternatives as sthey have to take connecting flights with different operators but this has been not approved by AI management.
