We already reported that TS government issued Permit Tax for all commercial vehicles from Andhra, particularly the four wheeler lorries that ferry goods between the two neighboring states.The decision has been taken despite pleas from the lorry owners from Andhra Pradesh. The private transport operators moved to the High Court alleging that decision of the Telangana Government was unconstitutional as Hyderabad is the joint capital of the two states for ten years . Now in a temporary relief to the private commercial vehicle owners of Andhra Pradesh, the AP High Court has directed the Telgangana government not to collect entry tax for a period of one week. The vehicles would be issued certificates for this period.
However, the High Court has made it clear that this relief would be applicable only to those who approached the courts. The others will have to pay the entry tax.Other side Keeping the Telangana State Government’s decision in view, Andhra Pradesh Private Travels’ managements have convened a meeting on Tuesday and decided to stop their vehicles from this mid-night.
