Hudhud affect: Loss worth 65000 crores; Recovered only ten percent

Devastating Cyclone Hudhud caused damage worth thousands of crores in the port city and other storm-hit areas of the coast.The revenue officials started gathering the details about the loss caused b Hudhud and according to their estimation 65000 crores worth damage was happened due to the cyclone.As many as 320 villages in 44 mandals of Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Vizinagaram and East Godavari districts are affected by cyclone. Other side Power and communication networks are also down in many places and restoration not yet took place in many areas.According to reports power was restored in only ten percent areas in Vizag.

Shortage of supplies has caused the prices of essential commodities to skyrocket with essentials like a bottle of water being sold for Rs 250 and a packet of milk for Rs 100. Price of petrol per litre is around 250 in black market and middle class people worrying about this and asked the government to intervene in the matter.People requesting the government to restore the power facility by Deevali festival. Irrigation, revenue, police and fire officials are monitoring the situation in cyclone affected areas.

Hudhud not only emerged as first high intensity cyclonic storm in 2014 to make landfall at wind speeds of 206 kmph, but also the third highest intensity cyclonic storm out of the 515 cyclonic storms that developed in either the Bay of Bengal or the Arabian Sea since 1891.
