Hyderabad Airport on High Alert

Update: 2014-02-21 09:14 GMT
The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad has been put on high alert on Friday after Chief Airport Security Officer (CASO) receiving an anonymous letter threatening that explosives will be used and transported through a flight which may land or take-off at the airport. It is also mentioned that the flight may come or go to Delhi.

Soon, The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) which guards the airport issued a red alert. Bomb squads and sniffer dogs have been deployed at the airport. Scanning has been intensified and security personnel in mufti have been asked to keep a eye on suspicious movements.

The same information has been passed to Hyderabad police asking them to keep a vigil. Airport Security handed over the letter to them and asked them to find out the source of the letter.
