Reports are abuzz that Congress hasn't agreed to any of the Amendments demanded by BJP in Rajya Sabha over AP Re-organisation Bill. The reason behind it is very clear - Once the Amendments have been made in Rajya Sabha, the Bill has to be placed before Lok Sabha for approval and the entire process would take few days time. As the Vote-on-Account session of Parliament is going to end on February 21st, Congress is in no mood to make any Amendments to the T-Bill at present.
However, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be making an accouncement in House regarding the special package to Seemandhra region and the constitutional amendment over powers to Governor on Hyderabad which is going to be a Joint Capital for a period of 10 years. Later, Union Cabinet will approve these amendments. This is a move to pacify the BJP which is stressing on these crucial amendments.
With the assurance from PM, BJP is likely to support Telangana Bill in Rajya Sabha. Expect the passage of the Bill in the Upper House Today.
