Jagan to begin fast in Chanchalguda jail

Update: 2013-08-24 06:20 GMT
YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy is likely to sit on fast-unto-death in the Chanchalguda jail protesting the division of Andhra Pradesh. It is learnt that the ongoing agitations in the Seemandhra region have been making him restless and decided to fight for keeping the state united.

As there are no indications of Congress high command holding back its decision on the bifurcation, Jagan has made up his mind to intensify the movement with his fast and he is all set to create history by doing so in the prison.

Actually, Jagan planned to sit on fast in the prison immediately after the July 30th announcement by Centre declaring Telangana state. However, YS Vijayamma persuaded him not to do so by saying Jail officials might cancel the mulaqats and  shift him to a prison in some other state if he begins hunger strike. Instead, she decided to begin indefinite fast on behalf of his son and completed over 100 hours of fast by now. Doctors have informed that there is drastic fall in her blood sugar levels and pulse rate. She, however, refused to take even liquids and the situation at the fast camp is very tense. Few leaders have broke into tears after seeing Vijayamma gaining all the strength to wish each and everyone visiting her camp with folded hands.

People of Andhra Pradesh will always have a special place for YSR family in their hearts for their commitment and sacrifices they have made over the years. Hats off to Maha Neta and his family!
