After dividing the state into two now Telangana chief minister KCR is focusing in division of Telangana districts. Inviting senior Telugu Desam leader Tummala Nageswara Rao along with many other Khammam leaders into the TRS fold, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said that there was the necessity of dividing the Khammam district into two parts.KCR expressed himself in favour of dividing Khammam district into two with Kothagudem as the other part.
He extended thanks to all those who joined the TRS. Nageswar Rao is a good friend of mine and has strengthened the TRS by joining us, he maintained.
KCR said that Khammam has natural wealth and said that the Steel Authority of India Limited had recently approached him with an offer to invest Rs. 30,000 crore in setting up a steel plant at Bayyaram.He described Mr. Nageswara Rao as a spotless leader with whom he was associated since the inception of Telugu Desam in 1982.
Notably, Tummala who is an influential leader in Khammam district has been a hardcore TDP fan since its launch in 1982. He, however, choose to shift loyalty to TRS after 32 years.Along with Tummala, MLC Balasani Lakshmi Narayana, ZP Chairman Anitha, TDP Khammam district president, 16 ZPTCs, 30 MPPs, 165 MPTCs and 260 Sarpanch's have joined TRS
