Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monogrammed bandhgala suit which created lot of debate among media circles was finally sold out. The suit sold off for Rs 4.31 crore at an auction that saw a scramble among the bidders on the final day.
Competition was observed high for the suit and bidding crossed Rs 4 crore on the last day of the three-day auction and a Surat-based Diamond merchant Lalji Bhai won the suit at a whopping Rs 4.31 crore.
Modi wore a band gala suit bearing signature of Narendra Damodardas Modi on the suit as pin stripes. The dark blue color suit with golden stripes has taken Modi's image to low level.
Opposition took pot-shots at Narendra Modi over putting his pinstripe monogrammed bandhgala suit for auction. The Congress, the AAP and the Trinamool Congress had called the auction a “damage control” exercise.
The suit along with other 455 items that Modi had received as gifts goes under hammer and the generated funds used for the Prime Minister's ambitious 'Clean Ganga Mission'.
