India successfully test-fires its nuclear-capable cruise missile 'Nirbhay' on Friday. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) developed this state-of-the-art missile. The test was held at Chandipur in Odisha from an integrated missile test range.

Nirbhay flies at tree-top level and this aspect makes it difficult for the radar to detect. It could hit the targets more than 700 km away carrying the nuclear material. It also have a fire-and-forget system which can't be jammed once after usage.

Actually, Nirbhay was first launched in March last year. But, The missile deviated from its course 20 minutes after the launch and hence its engine was removed to ensure safety.
