Ace filmmaker Rajamouli's celluloid wonder 'Eega' has received a great honor. This graphical extravaganza will be screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival on May 20th, as part of Indian Government's move to increase the reach of Indian films globally. "Shobu garu (Bahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda), my cousin cherry (Yamadonga producer) and Karthikeya (Rajamouli's son) are in Cannes. Eega is being screened on 20th in the film market section," shared the director.
Notably, this is a great year for Tollywood at Cannes. While Ram Charan would be promoting his bilingual Zanjeer by walking the red carpet, Rajanouli's Eega and Priyanka Dutt's short film will be screened this time. Cannes Film Festival will begin from May 15th and ends on May 26th.
The latest to hear is that Eega has been selected for the Panorama section of Shaghai International Film Festival (SIFF) which will be held from June 15th to 23rd.
Rajamouli is hopeful that the screening of Telugu films at International Film Festivals would open new markets that can generate revenues. Hope for the best!
