A Chennai court on Tuesday sent Sun TV Chief Operating Officer (COO) C Praveen Kumar who was arrested on sexual harassment charges to remand in police custody for one day. XI metropolitan magistrate Abraham Lincolin remanded the accused to police custody soon after he was produced in the court.
Sun TV COO C Praveen Kumar's bail plea will come up for hearing on Wednesday.
Deepti Sivan, a former programming head of Surya TV (Sun TV's Malayalam Channel), filed a sexual harassment complaint against Praveen Kumar. The central crime branch (CCB) arrested the Sun TV COO on friday.
Surya TV Channel head Saju David and Human Resource Vice President P Kannan who were part of the Sun Network has been named as Accused No. 2 and No.3 in the FIR. Cases were booked against the three under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 506 (1) (criminal intimidation), 352 a (grave provocation) of the IPC and Section 4 (1) of the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Women Harassment Act.
