Star Hero gets Rs 50 crore remuneration

Update: 2013-02-18 10:38 GMT
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has been following the footsteps of his counterpart Salman Khan when it comes to pay package.

Just few days after the reports of Salman charging Rs 50 crore as remuneration for one of his upcoming films under Prabhudeva's direction surfaced in the media, Akshay quoted the same amount as his package for the Hindi remake of Vijay starrer 'Thupakki'.

Notably, Salman's Rs 50 crore film would go to floors only by the end of 2013 or in 2014. As the shooting of 'Thupakki' is already progressing at a brisk pace and it is scheduled for release in the second half of 2013, Akshay Kumar will be the first Indian actor to pocket such huge amount for a single film.

Akshay has been scoring consecutive hits like Rowdy Rathore, Housefull 2, Khiladi 786 and Special 26 in recent past. So, the producers have no qualms in paying him more! Make Hay While The Sun Shines, Akki!!!
