Update: 2015-02-27 13:37 GMT
Arya Samaj leader and social activist Swami Agnivesh on Friday lambasted AP Government over acquiring 30,000 acres for the construction of New Capital. He opines 5,000 acres will be more than enough for capital city and accused the Government of fooling the farmers.

Swami Agnivesh described the Land Pooling Process as a conspiracy hatched by TDP Government for real estate activity. He appealed people to join hands to oppose the land acquisition being done.

The Activist questioned why does Chandrababu require 30,000 acres when a Capital like Chandigarh was constructed in just 5,000 acres. He alleged this move would pose a threat to food safety, farmers and environment. He asked how a World-class Capital could be constructed when government was unable to pay salaries and Centre hasn't been extending support.
