The biggest Parliamentary constituency in the country had gone in Telugu Desam Party’s way. The party candidate Mallareddy won in the much debated Malakjgiri constituency
Mallareddy won the seat with a majority of votes over 160,511 his nearest rival, Mynampally Hanumantha Rao of Telangana Rashtra Samiti. Lok Satta President Jaya Prakash Narayana ends with fourth position and Congress’ Sarve Satya Narayana being third. Former DGP Dinesh Reddy who contested from YSR Congress party cornered to fifth place.
Being a constituency which boasts of a significant number of middle class and educated voters, Malkajgiri has emerged as a hot destination for all aspirants. It has become the most sought after parliamentary seat for politicians of all hues, irrespective of their regional affiliations.
Presence of more settlers and educated voters tempted Jaya Prakash to choose this seat but the voters this time seem to have taken the side of traditional parties.
