As many as 21 People who were returning from a pilgrimage were killed after the mini van in which they were traveling fell off a bridge in the early hours of Saturday.
The driver lost the control, rammed into the side wall of the bridge to end up fall into the Godavari river. This tragedy took place when they were returning from Tirumala.
The deceased include 9 women, 6 men and 6 children. All of them hail from Achyutapuram near Visakha. The only survivor is a Young Boy and he is undergoing treatment.
AP CM Chandrababu Naidu responded on the incident: "Deeply saddened about tragic death of 21 people travelling in a van after it fell off Dowleswaram bridge. I'm monitoring the situation. The kid, a lone survivor, is undergoing treatment. Spoke to our Home Minister who visited the spot. We're providing all possible help".
